The off-white shoes

While I have always loved the idea of having any white shoes, I also learned very quickly how difficult it is to keep things white.  These particular shoes that are in the picture on the left, only stayed white for about two weeks before I was constantly bleaching them to keep them from looking dingy. After about six months or more of bleaching them daily, I finally gave up on trying to keep them looking clean, and was about to throw them out when I remembered that my friend (the one who loved to paint) also dyed her pair of shoes a darker color and loved them. After contemplating whether or not this idea would really work for a few weeks, I finally got up the nerve to buy some fabric dye and  pushed forward, throwing my shoes with the dye in a bucket of hot water. The directions stated that it would only require 20 minutes for the dye to set in but I kept stirring my shoes in the water for over an hour before they produced the perfect shade of gray. Then I rinsed the remaining dye out in running water until my shoes were no longer dripping gray colored water.
Not only, did my old dingy disgusting looking shoes look amazing and new once again,
it only cost about $5 for a large bottle of gray fabric dye!

The Creation of Life Revamped

THE CREATION OF: LIFE REVAMPED

About five years ago, I met a friend who absolutely loved to add new life to old used things by repainting them. In beginning, I thought her love for painting was just part of a serious obsession, however, it must have been contagious because I now find myself in love with the idea of taking something old and transforming it into something new as well.
From time to time, my good friend the painting addict and I have sent pictures and text messages to each other about our new found recreations which we would love to share with you.
Not all of your recreations have been painted, and the idea behind our blog "Life Revamped," will not be another site about painting, or a complete copy of someone's ideas on Pinterest but will be about using creativity to give things a second life and the process that is used to take the old and make it new.
